No one runs straight alky with nitrous.

They all use gas with the nitrous..

well are the rules different for alky? Nitrous gets some HP from the nitrogen parts cooling the engine, If I was to use alky on the nitrous I would fear that the cooling effects of the alky in conjunction with the cooling effects of the nitrous would pull the engine out of its operating heat range. To combat this I would think either raise compression or bump up the timing to generate more heat. The problem I see with this is that it could create a rise or a peak in cylinder pressure causing an uncontrolled burn (detenation). This is something that I have thought about for sometime now and have not really been able to come up with a positive solution one way or the other, I dont wanna tear up a bunch of parts and catch things on fire (alky's clear when it burns) because its dangerous and frowned upon @ the track. Most tracks dont even like us being there. thanks

Best thing if you just want to run it with alky and not use race gas just call Nitrous express tech line that guy can telly ou all you need to know in 10 min jsut leave a number and he will call you back. Also might give MCCOY a call he knows quite a bit about it i ahve talked to him as well. They will all tell you that race gas is the best way to go though

Give Garrett from GT a call. He can tell you what you need to know about running alky and n2o. 816-450-8580

PS. this week or next isn't the best time to get long answers from him.

i run alky on alky and love it but i had to get a alky noid and it is a pain when purging but i dont have the room for a extra fuel tank right now or the cash for a 2 compartment tank....i agree gas would seem to be better becuase it sparks faster

the tech guy at nitrous express made a great point...he said if you run gas with your alky at the end of the night instead of purging you motor and carbs with race gas and unhooking and hooking hoses up and stuff....you can always just turn your main tank off and your bottle off and run your motor on the gas fuel side of the nitrous kit by just hitting your button and purge you engine.....

there tech support is 2nd to none

Running Alky as a inrichment fuel has been done for a good while by quite a few Racers with good success. You do need to know what you are doing though or it could go IPB Image
